That’s a Wrap!

attle Market Review wraps up 2012

Apologies to regular Seattle Market Review readers who access the reports from this site. Seattle Media Maven has been on a much-needed and most welcome hiatus. As we stare into the mighty abyss of the fiscal cliff and you ponder what could be in 2013, you can temper your outlook with all the good and bad news fit to print on the Seattle Market and economy from the  November 2012 and December 2012 editions.

Already over the edge are most small businesses, abruptly shoved over — at least in outlook — with Obama’s re-election. Besides the looming fiscal cliff, the promise of higher health care costs and enough new regulations to make one’s head spin, owners are not very optimistic about the coming year. In fact, according to the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), near half  of its members believe the economy will be worse in 2013 than its current dismal state. Since small businesses are the foundation for a growing economy, we can only hope that in all the political finagling, a more business-friendly regulatory climate emerges.

One thing for certain, it’s going to be a bumpy ride in 2013. Seattle Media Maven hopes to be along for the journey, providing Seattle market and media insights that help you navigate the heavy seas ahead. Wishing you good cheer in the hours left in 2012 and looking forward to interacting with you all in the new year!
